Readiness: Custom build Concept demo

Who it is for

Built for

A good fit

Agricultural machinery classified operators, regional farming publishers with a listings section, dealer groups that want a shared used-stock portal across their branches, and auctioneers or trade bodies that run a used machinery board between sales. It suits a portal manager who wants to see live listings, packages and enquiries in one place, dealers who want their stock to appear and disappear without retyping, private sellers posting a single machine with photos from a phone, and buyers who want to filter by hours, year and distance and be told when the right machine comes up.

Also worth knowing

It is less suited to operators selling machines themselves with payment and delivery, who need a shop or auction build, to general vehicle portals, which have the vehicle listings package, and to single dealerships wanting a stock page on their own website, which is a smaller piece of work.

The operational problem it solves

How it runs, step by step

Six in the morning.

  1. The overnight feed from the largest dealer group has run: nine machines added, fourteen updated with new hours or price, three withdrawn as sold and moved to the archive, and two held because a tractor arrived without a year and a sprayer without a boom width.

  2. The portal manager clears those two with a message to the dealer and moves on.

  3. A private seller in the next county has posted a round baler from his phone with six photographs; the listing sits in review until the manager checks it against the category attributes and approves it.

At nine a buyer who saved a search for telehandlers under a certain number of hours within fifty miles gets an alert: a machine listed overnight matches.

  1. She opens it, sees the hours, year, lift height, condition and the branch it stands at, and sends an enquiry.

  2. The enquiry is routed to that branch, not to head office, and appears in the dealer's enquiry list with the machine attached.

  3. A second buyer asks about finance on the same machine; that enquiry goes to the configured finance partner with the listing details and is logged as routed.

  4. At midday a dealer's package reaches its live listing allowance and the next feed item is held until the dealer upgrades or lets another machine expire.

  5. At the end of the month, the package run produces one invoice per dealer from live listing counts, and the manager's report shows enquiries sent per dealer and per category without anyone counting emails.

Ownership, maintenance and pricing

After the build

Deployment and ownership

The package runs on your own hosting or on hosting we manage for you; the choice is made in the proposal and can be changed later. You own the code and your data. Listings, seller accounts, enquiries, packages and the sold archive can be exported at any time in standard formats, and the package does not lock you to a provider.

Maintenance

Maintenance is optional and scoped separately from the setup. When taken, it covers security updates to the platform and its dependencies, monitoring of feed runs, alert delivery and enquiry forwarding, backups with restore tests, and a monthly window for small configuration changes such as a new category attribute, a changed package rule or a new dealer branch. Larger changes are quoted as change requests.

Pricing model

Priced per proposal.

The package is sold as a one-off setup and customisation with optional monthly maintenance and hosting as separate recurring lines, or as a subscription that bundles hosting and maintenance where the operator prefers one recurring charge. The setup figure depends on the number of categories and attributes, dealers and feed formats, the package and invoicing rules, migration volume, image storage and the hosting choice. Your proposal states each line separately.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can each category have different search filters?

Yes. Each category carries its own attribute set, so tractors filter by hours and horsepower, trailers by capacity and axles, and sprayers by tank and boom width, while condition, year and distance apply everywhere. The admin edits the sets without developer help.

How do dealer feeds work?

With the feed add-on, each dealer stock system is mapped once to your categories and attributes. On schedule, new machines are created, changed ones updated and sold ones archived. Items missing a required attribute are held for the dealer or the admin to fix, never published incomplete.

What happens when a dealer reaches their package allowance?

New listings, by hand or by feed, are held until a machine expires or is marked sold, or the dealer moves to a larger package. The dealer sees the allowance and what is held in their own account.

Does the portal provide finance?

No. A finance enquiry on a listing is sent to the finance partner you configure, with the machine details, and logged as routed. The portal makes no credit decision and offers no finance of its own.

Can buyers be told when a matching machine is listed?

Yes. A buyer saves a search with its filters and radius and receives an alert when a new or updated listing matches, at the frequency they choose. Alerts stop when the buyer removes the search.

Can we keep sold listings for search value?

Yes. Sold machines move to an archive where the page remains, marked sold, with enquiry buttons removed. You decide how long archived pages stay public.

Can the portal sell machines directly or run auctions?

Not in the package. Taking payment for machines or running timed auctions is custom work scoped through the agricultural equipment listings development service.

Is this a finished product I can see running?

Not yet. The readiness badge on this page shows the real state: the package is currently a custom build assembled from our listings, multi-vendor, orders and forms modules for each operator, and the example on this page is a labelled concept demo rather than a live client system.
