Event ticketing package

Sell your own tickets: tiers that open and close on time, allocations that never oversell the figure you set, seated or standing layouts, QR e-tickets scanned at the door from a phone, refunds under your rules and a settlement for every promoter.

Readiness: Custom build Concept demo

Who it is for

Built for

A good fit

Venues, promoters, festival organisers, theatres, comedy clubs and sports clubs who want to sell their own tickets and keep the customer relationship: a room with weekly gigs, a theatre with a seated auditorium, a promoter running shows in hired venues, or a small festival with a few thousand attendees. Daily users are the venue or event manager who sets up events and tiers, the box office who sells by phone and at the counter, door staff who scan on a phone, promoters who watch their own sales and attendees who buy, transfer and show a QR code.

Not the right fit

It is not for conferences with delegate types, sessions and badges, which is the conference registration package, nor for portals listing other people's events with outbound links, which is the event listings package. Festivals with several gates needing offline scanning, bundled camping products or resale integrations should look at a custom build.

The operational problem it solves

How it runs, step by step

Friday, ten in the morning: a gig goes on sale.

  1. The event manager set it up on Monday with three ticket types against the standing figure she recorded for the room: a pre-sale allocation that opened on Wednesday to the mailing list with an access code, an early bird tier that closes at noon today or when its allocation sells, and general admission.

  2. At noon the early bird tier closes itself and its sixteen unsold tickets move to general sale.

  3. Each buyer sees the face value and the booking fee as separate lines, pays through the connected provider and receives an e-ticket with a QR code by email and as a wallet pass.

Three weeks later it is show night.

  1. Two stewards open the scanning page on their phones at the door; each scan turns green once and red the second time, and the manager watches the count climb towards the figure she set.

  2. A fan who cannot come has transferred her ticket to a friend through the link on the e-ticket, so the friend's name is on the door list and the original code is dead.

  3. The box office sells the last twelve walk-ups against the same live count.

  4. Next morning the promoter who hired the room logs in and downloads his settlement: sold by tier, fees separated, the venue's share and his.

  5. When a show the following month is cancelled, the manager presses refund once and every order is returned through the provider with a message to each buyer.

Features

What the package does

The package ships as modules that mirror the sale and the night: event and ticket set-up with allocations and tiers, the order and e-ticket flow, door scanning, refunds and exchanges, and promoter settlements. Each module below lists what it does; the comparison table shows which package variant includes it.

Payments and policies

  • Offline scanning across gatesScanning that keeps working across several gates without a connection and reconciles afterwards, scoped for the venue.

Billing and payments

  • Transfers, refunds and exchangesRefund and exchange rules set per event, ticket transfers between people and batch refunds if an event is cancelled.

Bookings and diary

  • Waiting list for sold-out eventsReturned tickets are released in order to people on the waiting list instead of going back on sale to anyone.

Ownership, maintenance and pricing

After the build

Deployment and ownership

Runs on your own hosting or on hosting we manage; the choice is made in the proposal and can change later. You own the code and your data in both cases. Events, orders, attendees, scans and settlements can be exported at any time in standard formats, and nothing in the package stops a move to another provider.

Maintenance

Maintenance is optional and scoped separately from the build. When taken, it covers security updates, monitoring of payment and refund callbacks, e-ticket delivery and the scanning page, backups, and a monthly window for small changes such as a new fee rule, a new seat map or a change to the e-ticket template. Larger changes are quoted as change requests.

Pricing model

Priced per proposal.

Sold as a one-off setup and customisation with optional monthly maintenance and hosting as separate recurring lines. The setup figure depends on the number of venues and layouts, whether seat maps, promoter settlements and wallet passes are included, the payment provider and the orders migrated from current platforms. The proposal itemises each line so recurring costs are never hidden in the build; booking fees charged to your buyers are set by you, not by us.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can we run seated and standing events in the same system?

Yes. A venue carries one or more layouts, each either a seat map with zones or a general admission figure you record. An event picks a layout, and the same order flow, e-tickets and scanning page serve both.

How do timed tiers and allocations behave?

Each ticket type has a quantity and a sale window. A tier closes when its window ends or its allocation sells, whichever first, and you choose whether unsold tickets roll into the next tier or are withheld. The total across all types never exceeds the figure set for the layout.

What do door staff need?

A phone with a camera and the scanning page open. Handheld scanners and printers for wristbands are connected as integrations where the venue already has them. Each scan is accepted once; a second attempt shows red with the time of the first scan.

How are refunds and transfers handled?

The organiser sets the rules per event: whether refunds are allowed, until when, and whether transfers to another person are free. Attendees act from the link on their e-ticket within those rules; outside them the box office decides. A cancelled event refunds every order in one batch through the payment provider.

Can promoters see each other's events?

No. Each promoter account sees only its own events, sales and settlement. The platform admin sees everything. Settlement reports show sales by tier with fees separated so the venue share and the promoter share are clear.

Is this a finished product I can see running?

Not yet. The readiness badge shows the real state: the package is a custom build assembled from our capacity, orders, multi-vendor and messaging modules for each venue or promoter, and the scanning page on this page is a labelled concept demo rather than a live client system. Festival-scale builds are scoped through custom ticketing platform development.
