Wednesday evening, seven o'clock.
The Thursday town round closed its cut-off at six, and the packer opens the packing sheet on the shed tablet: every order for that round, grouped by box type, with the loose items beneath and the meat listed by estimated weight.
The grower has already marked the last of the purple sprouting as finished and added the first asparagus to this week's box contents, so the customers saw the real box before they ordered.
A standing-order customer who skipped this week for a holiday does not appear on the sheet at all.
