Readiness: Custom build Concept demo

Who it is for

Built for

A good fit

Holding companies, family-owned groups, investment vehicles and umbrella organisations that own or control several trading businesses, from a group of three subsidiaries with one communications person up to a portfolio of a dozen or more businesses across sectors and territories. Daily users are the group communications officer who publishes announcements and approves subsidiary content, the company secretary who files reports and keeps the governance pages right, the nominated editor at each subsidiary who maintains its profile and supplies vacancies, and the stakeholder or journalist who wants the current structure and the archive without asking.

Also worth knowing

It is less suited to a single trading business, which needs the corporate website package instead; to listed companies whose investor relations must run through a regulated disclosure service, which the package links to but does not replace; and to groups that want the group site to sell products or take orders.

The operational problem it solves

How it runs, step by step

The group communications officer opens the dashboard on Tuesday.

  1. The approval queue holds two items: the engineering subsidiary has updated its profile with a new managing director and a revised description, and the logistics subsidiary has submitted a vacancy for a depot manager.

  2. She reads both, approves them, and the structure page, the sector listing and the consolidated careers list update without her touching any of them.

  3. The engineering profile change also moved the previous managing director to the former leaders list on the governance page, where the company secretary can confirm the date.

At eleven, the company secretary files the half-year report: document type, period and publication date entered once, and the archive shows it under the right year with the previous reports in order.

  1. At noon, the board approves an announcement about an acquisition.

  2. The officer publishes it; the site records the exact publication time, registered stakeholders receive the notification, and the two subsidiaries that opted into group announcements show it on their own sites through the feed.

  3. In the afternoon, a design agency working for the retail subsidiary needs the logo pack; the subsidiary editor downloads it from the brand library, and the download is recorded against her name, so when the agency later asks for the old colour palette there is a record of what was issued.

  4. At the end of the month the report shows archive downloads by document, announcement views and which subsidiaries have not updated their profile this quarter.

Features

What the package does

The package ships as modules that follow how a group communicates: structure and subsidiaries, reports and announcements, leadership and governance, careers across the group, and the brand library. Each module below lists what it does; the comparison table shows which package variant includes it.

Directory and reviews

  • Group structure and subsidiary profilesA structure page shows each subsidiary with a profile and a link to its own site, so the group reads as one picture.
  • Sector and territory browsingVisitors can browse the portfolio by sector and by territory instead of scanning one long list of companies.

Documents and cases

  • Reports archiveReports are filed by document type, period and publication date, with a year filter for readers looking for a specific filing.
  • Brand libraryLogos and brand files with version history and download tracking, so subsidiaries and partners use the current versions.

Content and editorial

  • Announcements with recorded publication timeEach announcement is categorised and stores the time it was published, so you can show exactly when a statement went live.

Compliance and records

  • Leadership and governance pagesBoard, committees and subsidiary heads each have their own place, kept current by the group rather than copied from page to page.

Workflow and tasks

  • Subsidiary editor accounts with approval queueEach subsidiary updates its own profile, and changes wait in an approval queue before they appear on the group site.

Integrations

  • Announcement feed to subsidiary sitesGroup announcements can be fed to those subsidiary sites that choose to show them.

Ownership, maintenance and pricing

After the build

Deployment and ownership

The package runs on your own hosting or on hosting we manage for you; the choice is made in the proposal and can be changed later. You own the code and your content. Subsidiary profiles, the reports archive with its dates, the announcement log, stakeholder registrations and the brand library with its download records can be exported at any time in standard formats, and nothing in the package prevents moving it to another provider.

Maintenance

Maintenance is optional and scoped separately from the build. When taken, it covers security updates to the platform and its dependencies, monitoring of announcement notifications and careers feeds, backups, and a monthly window for small changes such as a new subsidiary, a new archive category or an adjusted approval rule. A subsidiary changing the format of its vacancy feed is handled inside maintenance where minor and quoted as a change request where not.

Pricing model

Priced per proposal.

The package is sold as a one-off setup and customisation with optional monthly maintenance and hosting as separate recurring lines. The setup figure depends on the number of subsidiaries and sectors, the add-ons selected, the size of the archive and brand library to migrate, how many subsidiary feeds must be connected and whether you host it yourself. Your proposal states each line separately so recurring costs are never hidden in the build.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do subsidiaries keep their profile up to date?

Each subsidiary has a nominated editor account. The editor changes the profile and submits it; group communications approves or returns it with a note. Nothing appears on the group site until it is approved, and the group can see which profiles have gone a quarter without an update.

How is the reports archive organised?

Every document is filed with a type, a period and a publication date. Visitors filter by type and year, and the archive shows reports in order so the one from several years ago is as easy to find as the latest. Older documents can be migrated with their original dates during setup.

Does the package handle regulated investor relations?

No. It records when each announcement was published and can link to or note what was filed through a regulatory service, but filing, disclosure timing and the rules around them stay with that service and your advisers.

Can the group announcements appear on subsidiary sites too?

With the announcement feed add-on, yes. Subsidiary sites that opt in read the feed and display group announcements under their own design, and the group sees which sites consume it. Subsidiary sites built in unusual ways may need custom work through custom holding company website development.

Who can use the brand library?

Approved subsidiary editors and anyone else the group grants access to. Each download is recorded with the person and the version taken, so the group can see which subsidiary is working from an old logo pack.

Is this a finished product I can see running?

Not yet. The readiness badge on this page shows the real state: the package is currently a custom build assembled from our content, documents and approval modules for each group, and the example screen is a labelled concept demo rather than a live group website.
