Quote comparison package

A ready-to-configure platform where customers complete a structured request, the platform distributes it to a set number of providers by territory and cap, providers accept leads and submit quotes, the customer compares them in one table, and your refund desk rules on flagged leads against written criteria.

Who it is for

Built for

A good fit

Lead-generation businesses and comparison operators running one to a dozen service categories, from a founder with a single boiler-quotes site and twenty installers to a team of five account managers handling several hundred providers across the country. It suits operators who want distribution to run on rules rather than memory, account managers who onboard providers and set territories every day, a refund desk that needs the evidence in front of it, and providers who want their leads in an inbox and their balance on a dashboard.

Not the right fit

It is not for a marketplace where customers hire and pay a provider on the platform; that is the tradesperson marketplace package. It is not for a single provider wanting a quote form on their own website, and it is not a price-comparison engine for products such as insurance or energy tariffs, which need live pricing feeds rather than provider quotes.

The operational problem it solves

How it runs, step by step

Nine in the morning.

  1. A customer finishes the loft-insulation request form: property type, roof access, current insulation, ownership, postcode and a preferred contact window.

  2. The form validated the postcode and refused a mobile number with the wrong length, so the request lands clean.

  3. The distribution rule for that category says three providers.

  4. The platform picks three from the primary territory: the first provider on the rota, skipping one who hit their daily cap at eight-thirty and another who is paused for a failed subscription payment.

  5. Each provider gets a notification and the lead appears in their inbox; one has an API connection, so it is already in their CRM.

  6. Each provider's balance shows the lead charge.

By eleven, two providers have accepted the lead and one has submitted a quote through the platform with a breakdown and a validity date.

  1. The customer gets a link to the comparison page where each quote sits beside the provider profile and review summary.

  2. In the afternoon, the third provider flags the lead: the customer told him he is a tenant, not the owner.

  3. The flag lands in the refund queue with the request record, the delivery time and the form answers, where the ownership field says "owner".

  4. The refund desk declines under the written criteria and the decision is recorded against both.

  5. At five, the operator's dashboard shows requests by category and source, acceptance rate, quote rate, refund rate by provider and two territories where no provider is active, with a list of providers whose allowance runs out this week.

Ownership, maintenance and pricing

After the build

Deployment and ownership

The package runs on your own hosting or on hosting we manage; customers and providers use the mobile web version and your team uses a browser. You own the code and your data in either case. Request records, provider accounts, territories, lead history, quotes and refund decisions can be exported at any time in standard formats, and nothing stops you moving the platform to another provider.

Maintenance

Maintenance is optional and scoped separately. When taken, it covers security updates, monitoring of form submissions, distribution runs, lead delivery, CRM pushes and payment callbacks, backups, and a monthly window for small changes such as a new category form or a changed cap rule. Larger changes, such as a new billing model, are quoted as change requests against the original scope.

Pricing model

Priced per proposal.

Sold as a one-off setup and customisation with optional monthly maintenance and hosting as separate recurring lines. The setup figure depends on the number of categories and forms, the distribution rules, the billing model, CRM connections, the add-ons chosen and how many providers and territories are migrated. The lead prices and subscriptions your platform charges providers are your own commercial model, collected through your payment provider and unrelated to what you pay us. Each line is itemised in the proposal so recurring costs are never hidden in the setup.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How many providers get each request?

You set it per category. The platform fills that number from the territory rota, skipping providers who are capped, paused, out of budget or who already received a duplicate from the same customer, and records why each provider was or was not selected.

What does a provider see about the customer?

The full form answers and contact details once the lead is delivered, because the provider has paid for that contact. Before delivery, nothing. The customer is told on the form how many providers will receive their details, and the consent wording is yours to set.

Can providers manage their own territories?

Within limits the account manager sets, yes: a provider can shrink a territory, change a daily cap or set a budget from their dashboard. Expanding into a new district is an account manager action so territory counts stay under your control.

How do refunds work?

The provider flags the lead with a reason from your list. The refund desk sees the request record, the form answers and the delivery history, and approves or declines under the criteria you wrote. Approved refunds credit the balance; every decision is recorded and reported per provider and category.

Does the customer have to use the comparison page?

No. Providers can simply contact the customer after delivery. When providers submit quotes through the platform, the customer gets a comparison page and can mark a chosen quote, which gives you quote and win rates you would otherwise never see.

Is this a finished product I can see running?

Not yet. The readiness badge shows the real state: the package is a custom build assembled from our forms, multi-vendor, orders and directory modules for each operator, and the screen on this page is a labelled concept demo rather than a live client platform. Anything beyond the listed options is scoped as custom quote comparison platform development.
