Readiness: Custom build Concept demo

Who it is for

Built for

A good fit

Established small and medium businesses and professional firms, from a single-office consultancy with a handful of services to a regional business with several offices, a few divisions and a steady stream of vacancies. Daily users are the marketing editor who publishes pages and news, the HR administrator who posts vacancies and receives applications, the department contacts who answer routed enquiries, and the director who wants to see that every policy document on the site carries a current review date.

Also worth knowing

It is less suited to businesses that sell online, which need a shop rather than a corporate site; to groups with many subsidiaries, which have their own group website package; and to manufacturers whose site is really a product catalogue with specifications and datasheets. It is also not a CRM or an intranet; it hands enquiries to those tools rather than replacing them.

The operational problem it solves

How it runs, step by step

The marketing editor opens the site dashboard on Monday morning.

  1. Overnight, four enquiries arrived.

  2. A procurement manager asked for a tender pack and was routed to the bids lead; the board shows it acknowledged.

  3. A press query went to the communications contact.

  4. Two sales enquiries chose different service lines and landed with the two people who own them; one of those contacts is on leave, so the fallback rule sent it to her deputy and recorded why.

  5. Three candidates applied for the project manager vacancy through the structured form; HR sees them in the applications list with the answers to the screening questions, and the hiring manager named on the vacancy has already received them.

At ten, a new division head joins.

  1. The editor creates the profile, attaches the role, division and office, and the profile appears on the leadership page and the division page without touching either.

  2. At noon, the quality manager uploads a revised quality policy; the old version is archived, the review date updates and the governance page shows it immediately.

  3. In the afternoon, sales ask for the exhibition brochure to be gated; the editor ticks one option and the download now asks for a name, company and email first, with the details flowing to the newsletter list.

  4. At the end of the week the enquiry report shows counts per department, how many were acknowledged and which are still waiting, so Monday's management meeting works from numbers rather than memory.

Features

What the package does

The package ships as modules that mirror how a company presents itself and receives contact: pages and people, careers and news, offices and documents, and the enquiry routing layer. Each module below lists what it does; the comparison table shows which package variant includes it.

Content and editorial

  • Structured service pagesEach service or product page is built from fixed sections that your marketing team fills in, so pages stay consistent as divisions change.
  • Leadership and team profilesPeople pages carry role, division and office, so a leaver or new director is updated once and appears everywhere the profile is linked.
  • Case studiesCase studies follow a fixed situation, work and outcome structure and show only the results your business supplies.
  • News and announcementsDated news items sorted into categories, published by the people you authorise to speak for the company.

Directory and reviews

  • Office location pagesOne page per office with address, opening hours and the departments based there, kept in a single record so details match across the site.

Forms and requests

  • Department enquiry routingThe enquiry form asks which department the visitor needs and sends the message to that team, with a fallback contact when the owner is away.
  • Careers listings and applicationsVacancies with a structured application form that goes to the hiring manager instead of a general inbox.

Documents and cases

  • Brochure and document libraryBrochures sit in one library, with an optional short form before download so sales can see who asked for them.
  • Restricted document areaA document area for registered and approved contacts, such as tender packs that should not be public.

Compliance and records

  • Governance and policy areaPolicies and governance documents keep a version history and a review date, so visitors never find last year's statement presented as current.

Integrations

  • Newsletter sign-up and gated-download handoverSign-ups and gated-download contacts can be passed to your marketing tool rather than collected by hand.

Ownership, maintenance and pricing

After the build

Deployment and ownership

The package runs on your own hosting or on hosting we manage for you; the choice is made in the proposal and can be changed later. You own the code and your content. Pages, profiles, enquiries, applications, download requests and every document with its version history can be exported in standard formats, and nothing in the package prevents moving it to another provider.

Maintenance

Maintenance is optional and scoped separately from the build. When taken, it covers security updates to the platform and its dependencies, monitoring of enquiry delivery and application notifications, backups, and a monthly window for small changes such as a new office page, an adjusted routing rule or a restructured service section. Larger changes are quoted as change requests against the original scope.

Pricing model

Priced per proposal.

The package is sold as a one-off setup and customisation, with optional monthly maintenance and hosting as separate recurring lines. The setup figure depends on the number of service lines, offices and profiles, the add-ons selected, how much existing content is migrated and whether you host it yourself. Your proposal lists each line separately so recurring costs are never hidden in the build.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does enquiry routing work?

The enquiry form asks the visitor which department or service they need. The routing table, edited by your marketing editor, names the contact for each option and a fallback for leave. The contact receives the enquiry by email and on the board, and the visitor receives an acknowledgement with a reference.

Can we show our certifications and accreditations?

Yes, as supplied. Certificates and accreditations are uploaded by you with their dates and shown where you choose; the site records and displays them and does not judge whether they are current or adequate.

Can we gate a brochure behind a form?

Yes. Any document in the library can be set to ask for a name, company and email before download. The requests are listed in the dashboard and, with the add-on, handed to your newsletter or marketing tool.

Does the careers module replace our applicant tracking system?

No. It lists vacancies, collects structured applications and routes them to the hiring manager. If you already run an applicant tracking system, handover into it is custom integration work scoped through custom company website development.

Who updates the site day to day?

The marketing editor role is designed for a non-technical person: pages, profiles, news and the routing table are all edited through forms within structured templates. HR manages vacancies without access to anything else.

Can the site be in more than one language?

With the additional languages add-on, yes. Each language has its own editor and the page structure is shared, so a service page exists once with its text in each language you choose to maintain.

Is this a finished product I can see running?

Not yet. The readiness badge on this page shows the real state: the package is currently a custom build assembled from our content, forms and document modules for each business, and the example screen is a labelled concept demo rather than a live client website.
