Software package

Designer portfolio package

A portfolio platform with structured case studies filtered by discipline and client type, permission records per project, a credentials deck generated from your work, an availability flag, a press list and an enquiry form that asks the questions you would otherwise ask by email.

Readiness: Custom build Concept demo

Who it is for

Built for

A good fit

Graphic designers, product and furniture designers, interior designers and illustrators working alone or in a studio of two to six people. It suits the founder who adds a case study at the end of each project, the associate who keeps the press list current, and the prospective client who wants to see relevant work and send a useful first message without a phone call.

Also worth knowing

It is less suited to agencies with new-business teams, careers pages and campaign video, which have their own package, and to designers who sell prints or products directly, who need an online shop rather than a portfolio. Studios that need several enquiry routes with different questions, or a deck that varies by sector, should start with the custom service.

The operational problem it solves

How it runs, step by step

The designer finishes a brand identity on Friday and opens the work index.

  1. A new case study is created with the brief, approach and outcome written in three fields, images dropped in from the master folder and processed into every size the site needs, and the discipline set to identity and the client type to hospitality.

  2. The permission record is set to publish from the launch date the client gave, with the client named, so nothing appears early.

  3. On launch day the case study publishes itself and the identity filter on the work page gains a new tile.

On Monday an enquiry arrives through the form: a restaurant group wants a rebrand, deliverables include menus and signage, the timeline is three months and the budget band is one the designer works at.

  1. Because the form asked, the first reply can be a short call booking instead of a list of questions.

  2. The designer toggles availability to show new projects from the start of next quarter and the work page reflects it.

  3. Before the call, the credentials deck is exported from the identity and hospitality case studies, and the version sent is noted on the enquiry.

  4. A feature in a design magazine is added to the press list with its date and link.

  5. The associate, with their own login, corrects a credit on an older case study without asking the founder for the password.

Features

What the package does

The package is arranged as modules that follow how a studio presents itself and takes work: case studies and disciplines, permissions and publishing, the credentials deck, availability and enquiries, and press. Each module below lists what it does; the comparison table shows which package variant includes it.

Content and editorial

  • Case studies with brief, approach and creditsEach project is a structured case study covering the brief, your approach, the outcome and who else worked on it.
  • Discipline and client-type filtersVisitors filter the work index by discipline and type of client to find the projects relevant to them.
  • Process pages per disciplineExplain how you work in each discipline on its own page, so enquirers know what to expect.
  • Responsive image setsImages are processed into sizes that suit each screen and load as the visitor scrolls.
  • Press and features listKeep a list of where your work has been featured, maintained from the admin area.

Compliance and records

  • Permission records with publish-from dateRecord whether the client agreed to be named and from what date a project may go live, so nothing is published early.

Forms and requests

  • Structured project enquiryThe enquiry form asks for project type, deliverables, timeline and budget band, the questions you would otherwise ask by email.
  • Availability status on the siteShow whether you are taking on new work, changed in the admin area without editing pages.

Integrations

Ownership, maintenance and pricing

After the build

Deployment and ownership

The package runs on your hosting or on hosting we manage, as recorded in the proposal and changeable later. You own the code and your content in either case. Case studies, images, enquiry records and the press list can be exported in standard formats at any time, and the platform can be moved to another provider.

Maintenance

Maintenance is optional and scoped separately. When taken, it covers security updates to the platform and its dependencies, monitoring of scheduled publishing and enquiry delivery, backups of media and content, and a monthly window for small configuration changes such as a new discipline, a changed enquiry question or a template tweak. Larger changes are quoted as change requests.

Pricing model

Priced per proposal.

The package is sold as a one-off setup and customisation with optional monthly maintenance and hosting as separate lines. The setup figure depends on the number of disciplines and case studies to load, the add-ons chosen, the media types involved and whether you host it yourself. Recurring lines are stated separately in the proposal.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I hide the client name on a case study?

Yes. The permission record on each project sets whether the client is named, and the case study template shows a sector description instead where naming is not allowed.

What does the enquiry form ask?

Project type, deliverables, timeline, budget band and how the prospect found you, with the options set by you. You can add or remove questions in settings; a second route with different questions is custom work.

How does the availability status work?

You set it to taking work, taking work from a date, or not taking work. It appears on the work page and the enquiry form, and the form text changes to match so prospects know what to expect.

Can an associate add work without full access?

Yes. The studio associate role can draft case studies, manage media and keep the press list current, but cannot change settings or the availability status, and cannot publish without the designer.

Is this a finished product I can see running?

Not yet. The readiness badge shows the real state: the package is a custom build assembled from our portfolio, content and forms modules for each studio, and the example on this page is a labelled concept demo rather than a live portfolio.

We need a trade enquiry route separate from private clients. Is that in the package?

Not as standard. Several enquiry routes with their own questions, and decks that vary by sector, are custom work covered by the custom designer portfolio service.
