Who it is for

Built for

A good fit

Independent financial publishers, market commentary brands and research boutiques with a small newsroom of editors, analysts and columnists, publishing daily or several times a week, where credibility rests on timing, disclosure and precision. It suits the editor who needs to see what is waiting for review and what is scheduled, the analyst who writes and declares holdings in the same screen, the subscriptions administrator who should never have to reconcile a mailing list by hand, and the subscriber who wants everything about one company on one page with the latest data beside it.

Not the right fit

It is not for general news sites without instruments or disclosures, which the news website package covers, nor for corporate blogs. Publishers with several desks needing separate queues, conditional compliance routing, more than one data provider or entitlements sold by sector should look at the custom service first. The package displays data from a provider the publisher licenses; it does not include a data licence.

The operational problem it solves

How it runs, step by step

At seven in the morning an analyst opens the editor and starts a note on a listed housebuilder’s results.

  1. She tags the company from the taxonomy, which pulls its ticker and sector, drops in a price chart widget that will show live data from the publisher’s licensed provider, and fills in the declaration: she holds no position.

  2. The standing disclosure from her profile and the publisher’s standard text assemble into the disclosure block automatically.

  3. She submits, and the article appears in the editor’s review queue.

The editor reads it at eight, fixes a heading, confirms the disclosure block is complete and schedules it for a quarter past, when the market opens; the publication time is stamped to the minute.

  1. The article lands on the housebuilder’s topic page alongside the previous eleven pieces, the latest research note and the data widget.

  2. A columnist’s afternoon piece declares a holding, so the disclosure block carries that declaration in the position the publisher’s rules require.

  3. At midday the subscriptions administrator sees that a subscriber’s renewal failed; access to premium research is paused by the system and a payment reminder has gone, with nothing to reconcile.

  4. At four the editor composes the equities newsletter from the day’s published articles, previews it and schedules the send for five.

  5. On Friday the analyst notices a figure in Tuesday’s note was wrong; she files a correction with the reason, the editor approves it, and readers see the notice and the history beneath the article while the original timestamp stays as it was.

Ownership, maintenance and pricing

After the build

Deployment and ownership

The package runs on your own hosting or on hosting we manage for you; the choice is made in the proposal and can change later. In both cases you own the code, the content and the subscriber data. Articles, the taxonomy, correction history, profiles and subscriber records can be exported at any time in standard formats, and nothing in the package stops you moving the portal to another provider. Market data is never stored beyond what the provider licence allows, and the connection is configured with your credentials, not ours.

Maintenance

Maintenance is optional and scoped separately from the build. When taken, it covers security updates to the platform and its dependencies, monitoring of the data provider connection, subscription payment callbacks and newsletter sending, backups, and a monthly window for small configuration changes such as a new plan, a taxonomy update or a changed disclosure text. Larger changes are quoted as change requests against the original scope.

Pricing model

Priced per proposal.

The package is sold as a one-off setup and customisation, with optional monthly maintenance and hosting as separate recurring lines. The setup figure depends on the size of the archive and taxonomy to migrate, the add-ons selected, the data provider, payment and email platforms to connect, the number of newsletter editions and whether you host it yourself. Your proposal states each line separately; the data licence is a separate agreement between you and the provider.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is market data included?

No. You license data from a provider of your choice and the package displays it through configured widgets with the attribution the licence requires. The package does not include, resell or generate market data.

Can an article be published without a disclosure block?

No. The block is assembled from the author’s standing disclosure, the declaration made on that article and the publisher’s standard text, and the workflow will not schedule or publish until it is complete. What the disclosure should say is the publisher’s responsibility.

Does the package check that our content is compliant or give investment advice?

No. It records who wrote, reviewed and published each article, enforces the disclosure step and shows timestamps and corrections. Whether the content meets any regulatory requirement, and anything resembling advice, is for the publisher and its advisers.

How does premium access follow payment?

Subscriptions are billed through a payment provider connected in setup. When a payment succeeds, lapses or is refunded, the subscriber’s access changes with it, so there is no list to reconcile. The administrator can override within the rules set.

What does a reader see when an article is corrected?

A correction notice beneath the article with the date, the reason and the previous wording where the publisher chooses to show it. The original publication timestamp is unchanged and the full history is kept.

Is this a finished product I can see running?

Not yet. The readiness badge shows the real state: the package is a custom build assembled from our publishing, memberships and documents modules for each publisher, and the example on this page is a labelled concept demo rather than a live portal.

We have three desks that review their own work. Is that included?

The package runs one editorial queue with one disclosure step for the whole publication. Separate queues per desk, compliance routing that depends on a declared holding and several data providers are custom work handled through the custom financial news portal service.
