Who it is for

Built for

A good fit

Niche job board operators, trade and professional publications, and associations that want recruitment advertising to run itself: from a single-sector board with a few dozen live roles to a publisher running boards across several titles. It suits advertising managers who sell packages and need to see who is posting and renewing, employers who want to post, feature and review applicants without emailing anyone, and candidates who want to filter by the terms their sector actually uses and be told when a matching role appears.

Also worth knowing

It is less suited to recruitment agencies, which need a candidate database, shortlisting and placements rather than a public board, and to in-house talent teams, which need requisitions, interview panels and offers. Both have their own packages. Operators who need membership-gated posting or several inbound feeds with different field maps should look at the custom service first.

The operational problem it solves

How it runs, step by step

The advertising manager opens the board dashboard on Monday morning.

  1. Over the weekend two employers bought packages through the site: one a bundle of five listings, the other a single featured post.

  2. Both listings are already live because the package rules allow verified employers to publish without review; a third, from a new employer account, sits in the approval queue and is checked and released in a minute.

  3. A regional care provider calls to renew the three roles that expire on Friday; the manager extends them from the employer record and the invoice is raised automatically.

Meanwhile the overnight feed from a large employer's applicant system has added four vacancies, mapped to the board's specialism taxonomy, and expired one that was filled.

  1. A candidate who saved a search for part-time roles in the north-west receives her alert at eight, opens the new care listing, and applies on the board with the CV already on her profile.

  2. The employer sees the application appear under the job with a status of new, moves it to shortlisted that afternoon, and the candidate sees the change in her account.

  3. At month end the manager exports application statistics per employer to support the renewal conversations, and sees which featured placements actually produced applications.

Features

What the package does

The package is organised as modules that follow a vacancy from purchase to expiry: employers and packages, listings and taxonomy, candidates and alerts, applications and routing, and feeds and statistics. Each module below lists what it does; the comparison table shows which package variant includes it.

Accounts and permissions

  • Employer accounts with posting packagesEmployers register, buy a posting package and manage their orders and listings from one account.
  • Candidate accounts with CV uploadCandidates create a profile and upload a CV once, then reuse it for each application.
  • Subscription packages with monthly posting allowanceEmployers subscribe for a monthly allowance of postings. Available as an add-on.

Listings and search

  • Job listings with sector taxonomy and expiryListings use structured fields and your sector taxonomy, and expire on the date set so old jobs drop off the board.
  • Featured jobs with defined placement and durationEmployers pay for featured placement that runs in a set position for a set duration.
  • Employer branding pagesEach employer gets a page presenting the company alongside its live jobs.
  • Candidate CV search for employersEmployers on a package tier search candidate CVs. Available as an add-on.

Messaging and notifications

  • Saved searches and email job alertsCandidates save a search and receive job alerts by email when matching roles are posted.

Workflow and tasks

  • Applications routed to employers with status trackingApplications are collected on the board and passed to the employer with status tracking, or the candidate is redirected and the click is recorded.

Reporting and insights

  • Application and view statistics per jobEmployers and the operator see views and applications per job and per employer.

Integrations

  • Full-page caching, feeds out and sitemapPages are cached for speed, and the board publishes feeds and a sitemap so listings can be found elsewhere.
  • Feed intake from employer systems and aggregatorsBring in jobs from employer systems or aggregators automatically. Available as an add-on.

Ownership, maintenance and pricing

After the build

Deployment and ownership

The package runs on your hosting or on hosting we manage, chosen in the proposal and changeable later. You own the code and your data either way. Listings, employer accounts, candidate profiles, applications and orders can be exported in standard formats at any time, and the board can be moved to another provider.

Maintenance

Maintenance is optional and scoped separately. When taken, it covers security updates to the platform and its dependencies, monitoring of feed runs, alert sends and payment callbacks, backups, and a monthly window for small configuration changes such as a new package, a taxonomy term or an email template. Larger changes are quoted as change requests.

Pricing model

Priced per proposal.

The package is sold as a one-off setup and customisation with optional monthly maintenance and hosting as separate recurring lines. The setup figure depends on the taxonomy depth, the packages and add-ons chosen, the payment and accounting systems to connect, how many listings and accounts are migrated and whether you host it yourself. Recurring costs are listed on their own lines in the proposal.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can we sell both single listings and bundles?

Yes. Packages are defined by the board admin: single posts, bundles with an expiry on the unused allowance, and, as an add-on, subscriptions with a monthly allowance. Featured placement is a separate priced upgrade on any listing.

What happens when a listing expires?

The listing is archived and removed from search, the employer is reminded before and at expiry, and a renewal restores it with its history intact. The URL keeps returning the archived page with a clear expired notice rather than an error.

How do salary fields work?

Salary is recorded as the employer enters it, as a range or a band from your taxonomy, with an option to hide it from the public listing. The board does not calculate or verify salary figures.

Can candidates apply without creating an account?

You decide per board. Guest applications with a CV attachment are supported; an account is needed only for saved searches, alerts and application tracking.

Is this a finished product I can see running?

Not yet. The readiness badge shows the real state: the package is a custom build assembled from our listings, orders, messaging and multi-vendor modules for each operator, and the example on this page is a labelled concept demo rather than a live board.

Only our members should be able to post. Does the package do that?

The package ships public employer accounts with admin approval. Posting rights decided by an external membership database, with member and non-member rates, are custom work handled through the custom job board service.
