Readiness: Custom build Concept demo

Who it is for

Built for

A good fit

Solicitors' firms from a sole practitioner up to a few offices, barristers' chambers that need clerks to receive instructions by practice group, and legal consultancies that sell fixed-scope services. It suits a marketing administrator who updates profiles and articles weekly, practice-area leads who want to see their own enquiries, and a compliance officer who needs the regulatory wording in one place with a last-reviewed date.

Also worth knowing

It is less suited to firms that want the website itself to run matters, time recording or billing; that is practice management, covered by a separate package. It is also not a directory of many unrelated firms, and it does not provide a client portal for ongoing matters beyond the first enquiry.

The operational problem it solves

How it runs, step by step

At nine, the marketing administrator opens the enquiry board.

  1. Overnight, three enquiries arrived.

  2. An employment enquiry was asked for the date of dismissal during the flow, so it has been flagged as time-sensitive and routed to the employment lead and her secretary; both received it and the board shows it as acknowledged.

  3. A probate enquiry included two uploaded documents, held securely with a ninety-day retention clock already running; only the private client team can open them.

  4. A wills enquiry came in for the branch office and went to the solicitor who covers that office on Thursdays, with the practice manager copied because the fallback rule applied.

At eleven, a new trainee joins the commercial team; the administrator creates the profile, adds qualifications and areas of law from the firm's taxonomy, and links it to the practice-area pages.

  1. At three, the compliance officer updates the complaints procedure once and every page carries the new wording with today's review date.

  2. At the end of the day the enquiry report shows counts per practice area, how many were acknowledged and which are still waiting, so the Monday partners' meeting works from numbers rather than memory.

Features

What the package does

Directory and reviews

Ownership, maintenance and pricing

After the build

Deployment and ownership

The package runs on your own hosting or on hosting we manage for you; the choice is made in the proposal and can be changed later. You own the code and your content. Enquiries, uploaded documents within their retention period and the enquiry log can be exported in standard formats, and nothing in the package prevents moving it to another provider.

Maintenance

Maintenance is optional and scoped separately. When taken, it covers security updates to the platform and its dependencies, monitoring of enquiry delivery and upload storage, backups, and a monthly window for small changes such as new profiles, routing adjustments or fee page restructuring. Larger changes are quoted as change requests against the original scope.

Pricing model

Priced per proposal.

The package is sold as a one-off setup and customisation, with optional monthly maintenance and hosting as separate recurring lines. The setup figure depends on the number of practice areas, offices and profiles, the add-ons selected, how much existing content is migrated and whether you host it yourself. Your proposal lists each line separately.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can different practice areas ask different questions on the enquiry form?

Yes. Each practice area has its own question set, so an employment enquiry can ask for the date of dismissal while a conveyancing enquiry asks whether the property is freehold or leasehold. The answers travel with the enquiry to the routed fee earner.

What happens to uploaded documents?

They are stored encrypted, visible only to the roles allowed for that practice area, and deleted automatically when the retention period you set expires. The compliance officer can see what is held and for how long.

Does the package meet our regulator's website requirements?

It provides the controls: one managed place for the complaints procedure, regulator details and insurance wording, a review date, and consistent display across the site. Whether the wording satisfies your regulator is a judgement for the firm and its compliance officer, not something software can confirm.

Can enquiries go straight into our case management system?

That is custom work, scoped through the law firm website development service, because every practice system accepts data differently. The package itself exports enquiries and can notify by email so manual handover still works on day one.

Who updates the site day to day?

The marketing administrator role is designed for a non-technical person: profiles, pages, articles and the routing table are all edited through forms. Fee earners can update their own profile without access to anything else.

Is this a finished product I can see running?

Not yet. The readiness badge on this page shows the real state: the package is currently a custom build assembled from our content, forms and document modules for each firm, and the example on this page is a labelled concept demo rather than a live firm website.
