Seven thirty.
The weighbridge operator opens the day: eleven collections on two rounds, four trade drop-offs booked and the household drop-off slots open from nine.
Driver one's round sheet on his phone lists six container exchanges in order with access notes and the container numbers he is delivering and collecting; at each stop he confirms the swap and the container record moves from the customer's site to the lorry.
At eight-fifteen a trade customer's lorry arrives; the operator picks the booking, the bridge reads the gross weight into the ticket, the load is tipped, the lorry weighs out, and the operator selects mixed copper, grades it, records a deduction for the attached brass fittings with a photograph and confirms the ticket.
The customer's driver gets a copy by text before leaving the yard.
