Reviews platform package

A ready-to-configure review platform where businesses claim profiles by a code to their own channel, each review shows the route it arrived by, moderators act only with a published policy reason, reviewers and businesses can appeal, claimed businesses reply and send invitations, and the rating is calculated by a rule the site publishes.

Readiness: Custom build Concept demo

Who it is for

Built for

A good fit

Review platform operators listing businesses across a sector or a region, and brands or groups collecting reviews about many branches, dealers or franchisees under one policy. It suits operators from a founder with one moderator to a team with a moderation desk, business support and sales, moderators who need a reason attached to every action and signals beside every review, business support staff who handle claims and appeals, claimed businesses that want to reply, invite customers and embed a widget, and reviewers who want to know what happened to their review and why.

Not the right fit

It is not for a single business collecting testimonials for its own website, and it is not a directory where the listing is the product and reviews are a feature; that is the business directory package. It is also not a marketplace that collects reviews tied to its own transactions, which belongs to the marketplace package in question.

The operational problem it solves

How it runs, step by step

Monday, nine o'clock.

  1. The moderation desk opens the queue: sixty-two reviews overnight.

  2. Each shows its route: thirty arrived through invitation links businesses sent from the platform, eight carry a booking reference matched against a list the business uploaded, fifteen came from confirmed emails and nine are open submissions.

  3. Beside one profile the signals panel shows seven five-star open submissions in forty minutes from accounts created that morning on the same network; the moderator holds them under the policy reason for coordinated submission, records it, and the reviewers are told and offered an appeal.

  4. A reader flag on another review says it names a staff member; the moderator edits out the name under the published reason and the reviewer sees the edit and the reason.

At ten a garage claims its profile by a code sent to an address on its own domain; the claim is recorded with the channel and time.

  1. The owner reads a two-star review, replies beneath it, and uploads last month's job list to send invitations; each invitation is recorded with the customer reference and the send time, and the reviews that come back will show "invited by the business".

  2. At noon a reviewer appeals a removal; a second moderator reads the review, the reason and the appeal, and upholds the removal with a note.

  3. The garage's profile shows a rating from approved reviews only, with the count, the proportion by route and a link to the page explaining the rule, and the same figure appears in the widget on the garage website.

  4. At five the operator sees submissions by route, holds and removals by policy reason, appeals upheld and overturned, invitations sent per business and profiles with a burst flag this week.

Features

What the package does

The package ships as modules that follow the review: profiles and claims, submission routes, moderation with signals and appeals, business replies and invitations, ratings and widgets, and exports and reporting. Each module below lists what it does; the comparison table shows which package variant includes it.

Accounts and permissions

  • Business profiles and claimsBusinesses claim their profile with a code sent to their domain, phone or postal address.

Forms and requests

  • Labelled submission routesReviews arrive by invitation link, purchase or booking reference, confirmed email or openly, and each is labelled on the review.

Workflow and tasks

  • Moderation queue with policy reasonsEvery moderation action needs a reason from the published policy, so decisions can be explained.

Compliance and records

  • Moderator signals panelModerators see account age, bursts from the same network and submission rate per profile; reviewers and businesses do not.

Portal and access

  • Appeals decided by a second moderatorReviewers and businesses can appeal a hold or removal, and a different moderator decides.

Content and editorial

  • Right of replyA business that has claimed its profile can reply beneath any approved review.

Messaging and notifications

  • Invitations from customer listsBusinesses upload a customer list and send review invitations, with each one recorded.

Reporting and insights

  • Aggregate rating by published ruleThe rating comes from approved reviews under a published rule, shown with the count and a breakdown by route.

Integrations

  • Widgets and feedsWidgets and feeds show the same figure as the site, so a business cannot display a different rating elsewhere.

Documents and cases

  • Data exportBusinesses and the platform operator can export review data.

Billing and payments

  • Business subscriptionsSubscriptions through your payment provider can unlock invitations, widgets and exports for a business.

Memberships

  • Reference import and reply templatesPurchase or booking references can be imported by API from business systems, and reply templates with response-time reporting help businesses answer.

Ownership, maintenance and pricing

After the build

Deployment and ownership

The package runs on your own hosting or on hosting we manage; reviewers and businesses use the mobile web version and moderators use a browser. You own the code and your data in either case. Profiles, claims, reviews with their routes, moderation and appeal records, invitations and subscription history can be exported at any time in standard formats, and nothing stops you moving the platform to another provider.

Maintenance

Maintenance is optional and scoped separately. When taken, it covers security updates, monitoring of invitation delivery, claim codes, widget feeds and payment callbacks, backups, and a monthly window for small changes such as a new policy reason or a changed signal threshold. Larger changes, such as a new submission route tied to a business system, are quoted as change requests against the original scope.

Pricing model

Priced per proposal.

Sold as a one-off setup and customisation with optional monthly maintenance and hosting as separate recurring lines. The setup figure depends on the number of businesses listed, the submission routes, the moderation and appeal process, the signals required, the add-ons chosen, the payment provider and how many existing reviews are migrated. Subscriptions your platform sells to businesses are your own commercial model, collected through your payment provider and unrelated to what you pay us. Each line is itemised in the proposal so recurring costs are never hidden in the setup.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does the route label on a review mean?

How the review arrived: through an invitation the business sent from the platform, with a purchase or booking reference the business uploaded, from a confirmed email address, or as an open submission. The label states the route and nothing more; the page explaining the rule says the same.

Can signals remove a review automatically?

No. Signals such as account age or a burst from one network are shown to the moderator beside the review. Every hold or removal is a moderator action with a recorded policy reason, and the reviewer can appeal it.

Can a business remove a review it does not like?

No. A claimed business can reply beneath it and can flag it with a policy reason, which sends it to the queue like any other flag. Moderators decide, record the reason, and the business is told the outcome.

How is the rating calculated?

By the rule you publish: approved reviews only, with the count shown, optional recency weighting, and a minimum count before a figure appears. The rule page is linked from every profile and the widget shows the same figure as the site.

Does a subscription change ratings or order?

No. A subscription buys invitation sending, a widget, exports and reply templates. The subscription page and the published policy both state that it has no effect on ratings, review order or moderation.

Can reviewers withdraw a review?

Yes, within the published rules. A withdrawn review leaves the rating and the profile, the withdrawal is recorded, and the business is told. Edits by the reviewer are shown with the edit date.

Is this a finished product I can see running?

Not yet. The readiness badge shows the real state: the package is a custom build assembled from our directory, messaging, orders and content modules for each operator, and the screen on this page is a labelled concept demo rather than a live client platform. Anything beyond the listed options is scoped as custom reviews platform development.
