Who it is for

Built for

A good fit

Single-site warehouses from a few hundred to a few thousand bin locations: wholesalers and distributors shipping to trade customers, e-commerce businesses that have outgrown the stock module in their shop platform, and small third-party storage operators with a handful of clients. It suits warehouse managers who want to see stock by bin and not just by total, goods-in operators who want deliveries checked against the purchase order as they scan, pickers who want the list in walking order with a scan that stops a wrong pick, packers who want the courier label to print without retyping, and owners who want a reorder alert before the fast line runs out.

Not the right fit

It is not for multi-shed networks with waves spanning many clients and event-based billing, for manufacturing with bills of materials and works orders, or for cold stores with automated handling; those need the custom route. It is not a shop, a purchasing system or an accounts package, although it connects to all three.

The operational problem it solves

How it runs, step by step

Seven in the morning on the goods-in dock.

  1. A delivery arrives against a purchase order booked in last week.

  2. The operator opens the goods-in page on a hand-held, selects the purchase order and scans each carton: the quantity received is compared with what was ordered, a line that is short is flagged, a damaged carton is recorded with a photo, and two lines carry a batch number and an expiry date that are typed from the label.

  3. For each line the page suggests a bin, a floor-level bay for the heavy item and a bin near dispatch for the fast mover, and the operator scans the bin label to confirm put-away.

  4. The stock is live and located before the first order is released.

At nine the manager releases the morning pick list: the orders imported overnight from the shop are grouped into a batch and sorted into aisle order.

  1. A picker takes it on a hand-held, is sent to the first bin, scans the bin and the item, and is stopped when she scans a similar item from the next bin by mistake.

  2. Where two batches of the same product exist, the list sends her to the one expiring first.

  3. At the pack bench the packer scans the tote, the page shows the order lines, suggests a carton size, prints the courier label through the connected carrier and sends the tracking number back to the shop.

  4. After lunch a cycle count of twenty fast bins is picked up by whoever is free; one bin is two short, the variance is recorded with the counter's name and the manager approves the adjustment from his screen.

  5. At four a reorder alert fires because the fast line has dropped below its threshold with a lead time of ten days, and the owner raises a purchase order in the buying system knowing exactly what is on the shelf.

Features

What the package does

The package ships as modules that follow the stock: locations and products, goods-in and put-away, orders, picking and packing, and counting, thresholds and client views. Each module below lists what it does; the comparison table shows which package variant includes it.

Stock and inventory

  • Zones, aisles, bays and bins with barcodesEvery location in the building has a barcode label, so stock is recorded to the bin rather than just the warehouse.
  • Products with batch and expiry trackingProducts carry barcodes and units, with batch and expiry tracking switched on where the stock needs it.
  • Goods-in against purchase ordersCheck deliveries against purchase orders, record shortages and damages, and get a suggested bin for put-away.
  • Reorder thresholds and alertsSet thresholds and lead times so you are alerted before a line runs out.
  • Cycle counts with variance approvalCount part of the warehouse at a time without stopping work, with variances recorded and approved before stock changes.

Payments and policies

  • Order import and pick listsOrders imported from one shop platform become pick lists in aisle order.
  • Scanning at pickEach pick is scanned, wrong picks are blocked and the oldest batch is allocated first.
  • Packing with courier labelsPick the carton, print the courier label and confirm dispatch from the packing station.
  • Wave picking by courier cut-offGroup orders into waves by courier cut-off so each pick run matches a collection.
  • Returns processingGrade returned items and put them back on the shelf.

Integrations

  • Additional shop or marketplace connectionsImport orders from further shop or marketplace connections.

Clients and records

  • Storage client accountsStorage clients log in to see their own stock and delivery notices.

Ownership, maintenance and pricing

After the build

Deployment and ownership

The package runs on your own hosting or on hosting we manage; the scanning pages run in a browser on a hand-held or a phone, and label printers are connected during setup. You own the code and your data in either case. Products, locations, stock movements, counts and client records can be exported at any time in standard formats, and nothing in the package stops you moving it to another provider.

Maintenance

Maintenance is optional and scoped separately. When taken, it covers security updates, monitoring of the order import, courier label printing and scanning pages, backups of stock and movement records, and a monthly window for small changes such as a new zone, a revised put-away rule or a threshold change in bulk. Anything larger is quoted as a change request against the original scope.

Pricing model

Priced per proposal.

Sold as a one-off setup and customisation with optional monthly maintenance and hosting as separate recurring lines; there is no charge per order or per bin. The setup figure depends on the number of locations and products, whether batch and expiry tracking is needed, the shop and courier connections, the scanning hardware and the add-ons selected. Each line is itemised in the proposal so recurring costs are never hidden in the setup.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How are locations set up?

You describe your racking as zones, aisles, bays, levels and bins, the package generates the location codes and prints barcode labels for each. Opening stock is counted into the bins during launch, so the system starts knowing where things are.

What happens if a delivery does not match the purchase order?

The goods-in page shows ordered against received per line, flags shortages and over-deliveries, lets the operator record damage with a photo, and leaves the purchase order partly received so the balance can arrive later. A delivery with no purchase order can be received as unexpected and matched afterwards.

Does it stop a picker taking the wrong item?

Yes. Each pick requires a scan of the bin and the item; a mismatch is blocked with a clear message and the picker cannot proceed until the right item is scanned or the bin is reported as a problem.

How does batch and expiry tracking work?

Batch number and expiry date are recorded at goods-in per line. Picking allocates the batch expiring first by default, the pick page tells the picker which batch to take, and reports show stock approaching expiry by bin.

Can it print courier labels?

Yes, through the carrier connections chosen at setup. The packer confirms the order and the label prints on the connected printer; the tracking number is written to the order and sent back to the shop with the dispatch confirmation.

How do cycle counts differ from a stock take?

A cycle count covers a chosen set of bins or products while the warehouse keeps working, scheduled so fast bins are counted more often. A stock take covers everything at once. Both record each variance with the counter and require approval before stock is adjusted.

Is this a finished product I can see running?

Not yet. The readiness badge shows the real state: the package is a custom build assembled from our inventory, scanning, order and counting modules for each warehouse, and the screen on this page is a labelled concept demo rather than a live client system. Anything beyond the listed options is scoped as custom warehouse management development.
